Wildlife Habitat Garden Project & Sacred Grounds

Pollinators Love Novato - Home Ground Habitats

This is the City of Novato's goal of becoming a Certified Community Habitat with the support from Home Ground Habitats.

Novato, a charming town in Marin County, California, boasts more open space than nearly any other part of the county. The area is rich in natural beauty, featuring oak woodlands, riparian zones, rolling hills, wetlands, and valleys—each accessible via well-maintained hiking trails. The National Wildlife Federation’s Community Habitat Certification program provides an excellent structure to bring together individuals, schools, local government, and community groups to collaborate in supporting the sustainable stewardship of this beautiful land. By uniting under the common goal of making Novato a Certified Community Habitat we are fostering community engagement in protecting our local environment by creating and promoting wildlife habitat gardens and pollinator corridors. Novato's own butterfly sanctuary and non-profit native plant nursery, Home Ground Habitats, is supporting this initiative by providing pollinator friendly plants, seeds, and education to individuals, schools, City Parks, and community groups who participate in helping Novato achieve Community Wildlife Habitat certification. Groups participating will be listed here as they join, and participants' activities and updates will be added to the Spotlight section! To get involved email: PollinatorsLoveNovato@choosingnature.org
