Stewardship
Leader: Robert Tarleton

Stewardship, Education and Development through the Year

This year the rector, wardens and vestry have identified financial health as a priority for St. Francis. A Stewardship Committee has been appointed and is in the process of implementing a year-round program for stewardship, education and development which was created by congregation member, The Rev. David Gordon, when he was the Stewardship Officer for the Diocese of New York. David’s program has been implemented throughout the Episcopal Church and Anglican Church of Canada.

What is stewardship? Christian stewardship involves the responsible management of the financial affairs of the church as well as the individual or family, but it goes beyond money. God created all things, including people, who are to be caretakers, or stewards of all that God created. Being good stewards involves protecting and improving our natural surroundings and environment. It also includes our concern for humanity.

How do I get involved? All members of St. Francis are invited to share their dreams for St. Francis.

Questions? Talk to our rector, The Rev. Vanessa Glass, or a member of the Stewardship Committee: Robert Tarleton, Chair; Jay Kuhlman, Vice-Chair; Gwen Soberay, Secretary; Peter Bland, Information Coordinator; Meredith Burrell, Arrangements Coordinator; Betsy Guthrie, Commitment Coordinator.
